Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 October 2026

These terms apply when you use the Notelope Windows app, the Notelope service behind it and the website notelope.com (together, "Notelope"; previously called Briefly). "We" and "us" mean the team that runs Notelope. By using Notelope you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. The beta

Notelope is in a private beta. Accounts are created by invitation, it is free during the beta, and each account has a limited number of meeting minutes. Features may change, break or be removed while we learn from testers, and we may end the beta. We will give you reasonable notice before closing the service so you can copy anything you need.

2. Your account

Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at notelope.info@gmail.com if you think someone else has used it. You must be at least 18 to use Notelope.

3. Recording meetings lawfully

Notelope records what you hear on your PC, including other people. You are responsible for using it lawfully. That means telling participants they are being recorded and getting their consent wherever the law, your contract or the meeting platform requires it. Don't use Notelope to record anyone secretly or in breach of a confidentiality duty.

4. Acceptable use

Don't use Notelope to break the law or to harm others. In particular, don't:

We may suspend accounts that break these terms. Where possible we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the issue.

5. Your content

Your recordings, transcripts, summaries, tasks and emails belong to you. You give us permission to store and process them, including sending them to the service providers named in our Privacy Policy, only so that we can provide Notelope to you. We don't use your content to train AI models and we don't sell it.

6. AI-generated results

Transcripts, summaries, action items and email drafts are created automatically and can contain mistakes: misheard words, wrong names, missed or invented details. Check them before you rely on them or send them to anyone. You are responsible for what you do with them.

7. Other services

When you connect Jira, Notion or Asana, Notelope creates items there on your request. Your use of those tools is governed by their own terms. We are not responsible for their availability or for what happens to items once they are created there.

8. The app and updates

We grant you a personal, non-transferable right to install and use the Notelope app while you have an account. The app updates itself; some updates may be needed to keep using the service.

9. No warranty

Notelope is provided "as is" and "as available", especially during the beta. As far as the law allows, we give no promises that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose. Keep your own copies of anything important.

10. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim about Notelope is limited to the amount you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim, or INR 1,000 if that is more. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Ending your use

You can stop using Notelope at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may close accounts that break these terms or when the beta ends. Sections 5, 6, 9, 10 and 12 continue to apply after your account is closed.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts of India have jurisdiction, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they apply. If you keep using Notelope after that, the new terms apply.
